NASCAR is the most popular motor championship in the United States, created in the difficult era of post-WWII (1948), when due to a shortage of new cars, Hill France, the President of NASCAR, had the idea of transforming street (stock) cars into top racing vehicles.

Since then NASCAR has grown to become the second most popular professional sport in terms of television ratings inside the U.S. with a very large international audience as well: NASCAR races are broadcasted in over 150 countries with more than 75 million fans.

The front of the vehicle emphasizes the primary sponsors, while detailing the unique features of the Monte Carlo racing machine.  Inside the car, you can see great details regarding the roll bars, driver, and other safety features. Along both sides of the vehicle, the SCX model accurately reflects every element of sponsorship as presented on the 2006 car owned by Richard Childress Racing and driven by Kevin Harvick.

As you can see in the photo, this car is largely dark and intimidating – reflecting the style of serious racing pursued by Kevin Harvick and his team.

The tires on the SCX model reflect the wide flat tread and sporty black rims along with the name of Goodyear printed on an outstanding type of rubber that really sticks to all types of slot car track.

The car reproduced by SCX is the #29 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Kevin Harvick and owned by Richard Childress Racing. Chevrolet is the most winning car in the history of NASCAR Competition, and in 2006 has won twice the number of Nextel Cup races as Ford and Dodge combined.

The team behind this powerful car is Richard Childress Racing. Richard Childress was the first owner to win championships in all three of the top series in NASCAR:  Nextel Cup, the Busch Grand National, and the Craftsman Truck Series.  Childress steered his own car in the top series of NASCAR from 1969 to 1981- achieving six top-five and 76 top-ten finishes.  The main sponsor of this #29 car for more than 20 years is GM Goodwrench, but the #29 can count on Hershey´s (under its brand Reese´s) for primary sponsorship during a few races each year.

The driver of this winning car is Kevin Harvick.  This Californian, age 25, was the first driver to race full-time in the Nextel Cup and in the Busch series at the same time.  He will likely win the Busch series in 2006.  Harvick is one of the only two drivers to win at least two races in each of NASCAR´s top three series: Truck, Busch, and the Nextel Cup.
