NASCAR is the most popular motor championship in the United States, created in the difficult era of post-WWII (1948), when due to a shortage of new cars, Hill France, the President of NASCAR, had the idea of transforming street (stock) cars into top racing vehicles.

Since then NASCAR has grown to become the second most popular professional sport in terms of television ratings inside the U.S. with a very large international audience as well: NASCAR races are broadcasted in over 150 countries with more than 75 million fans.

The attention for detail by SCX is clearly visible in the decoration of this Ford Fusion: from the big logo of the sponsor Office Depot, to the smaller logos on the rest of the car (number 99 in the left headlamp, the driver´s signature on the ceiling, the Ford logo on top of the air intake and in the laterals, etc.).

Red and black are the predominant colors in this 2006 decoration, which really stands out when speeding around the track.

The laterals clearly emphasize the car # 99, known by all to be driven by Carl Edwards.

A simple decoration on the back of the car emphasizes the primary sponsor and would seem very intimidating if you were following this car at 200 mph on a real race track.

This # 99 Ford Fusion has the 2006 decoration of the Roush Racing Team.

Roush Racing has claimed 24 national championships and titles in the top two NASCAR series. In 1988, owner Jack Roush, a former Ford Motor Company employee and road-racing specialist, expanded his racing business to include a NASCAR Cup series team. Roush Racing finally got its first Cup series championship in 2003 with driver Matt Kenseth (who may win again in 2006).

The driver of this powerful car, Carl Ewards (27 years old from Missouri), started his racing career at the early age of 13 by driving four-cylinder mini-sprints. He got his first taste of NASCAR in the Weekly Racing Series in 2000 when he was named Rookie of the Year, and claimed the Capital Speedway Track Championship.

Carl Edwards started driving this Ford Fusion in 2004 when he finished out the Cup season with one top-five and five top-ten finishes. Better yet, Carl Edwards won 4 races in 2005, finished in the top-five 13 times, and ended up in 3rd place overall.
